Team Kidney is stronger than ever.

There are estimated to be 7.2 million people in the UK currently living with chronic kidney disease, treatments can be gruelling and currently there is no cure. Only research will end this, by offering kidney patients and their families hope for the future.

Our annual report lays out our progress over the last financial year – in which we accelerated positive change for patients through our research, our collaborations, and our policy work.

We report on our goals, celebrate our successes and acknowledge the people and organisations who so kindly gave us their time, their voice and their support.

Take a moment to read about our highlights from the past exciting year.

How your donations fund vital research

In 2024/25, we invested across research, awareness and education

£
million

We strive to continuously improve efficiency and to invest as much as possible of each pound in research and raising awareness of kidney disease.

Of all the money we raise, we invest 78 pence out of every pound directly into our research and awareness work, with 22 pence helping us to raise the next pound to sustain our work into the future.

Our fundraising costs

We are committed to ensuring as much of every pound raised as possible goes directly into our research and awareness work. We strive to keep our costs as low as we can, and we continually review how we work to further improve our effectiveness. We balance this with ensuring that we maintain the quality of what we do and the welfare of our staff and volunteers is not compromised by cutting costs below the level needed to remain effective.

Our fundraising promise

We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and aim to ensure that our fundraising is respectful, open, honest, legal and accountable. Find out more by reading our fundraising promise.
