Translational research grants
We're are the largest kidney research charity in the UK. Our Research Strategy to 2030 outlines our three strategic priorities and what we want to achieve through research in the next ten years or sooner.
Devices for Dignity (D4D) was established in 2008 through a Department of Health and Social Care pilot scheme to grow research and innovation in the medical technology development landscape. D4D’s goal is to act as a catalyst for new medical technologies to come to market or enter the care pathway for people with long-term conditions. They do this through collaboratively working with industry, academics, patients and the public. D4D have recently received £3m from the NIHR to become one of 14 nationwide HealthTech Research Centres, which will come into effect on 1 April 2024. With a focus on long-term neurological conditions, diabetes, renal disease, women’s health, mental health and rehabilitation, D4D have extensive expert networks and a nationwide remit.
