Paediatric and rare kidney diseases grants

Do you want to transform the future of paediatric or rare kidney disease?

We are offering funding opportunities for researchers dedicated to advancing our understanding, diagnosis, or treatment of paediatric and rare kidney conditions

Help us drive forward progress for patients with the highest unmet needs.

Advancing research in paediatric and rare kidney diseases

We are committed to changing the future for children and families affected by kidney disease. Our latest funding call aims to accelerate research that addresses the unique challenges of paediatric and rare kidney conditions, where treatment options are often limited and patient needs are unmet.

Why focus on paediatric and rare kidney diseases?

Children with kidney disease face a lifetime of health challenges. Many rare kidney conditions are poorly understood, under-researched, and lack effective treatments. By investing in this critical area, we aim to spark discoveries that could transform patient care.

Types of grants available

We welcome applications for the following grant types:

We particularly encourage paediatric trainees to apply with a translational research project focused on rare kidney disease. One award from this round will be available for a project that aligns with the goals of the LifeArc–Kidney Research UK Centre for Rare Kidney Disease.

To strengthen your application, we recommend initiating an early conversation with Dr Louise Oni, the centre’s lead, via UKKidneyEcosystem@liverpool.ac.uk, to explore how your proposed project complements the centre’s strategic research priorities.
