Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidneyresearchuk.org\/research\/research-strategy\/\">Research Strategy to 2030<\/a>\u00a0outlines our three strategic priorities and what we want to achieve through research in the next ten years or sooner.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidneyresearchuk.org\/research\/research-strategy\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRead our strategy\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<p>Devices for Dignity (D4D) was established in 2008 through a Department of Health and Social Care pilot scheme to grow research and innovation in the medical technology development landscape. D4D&#8217;s goal is to act as a catalyst for new medical technologies to come to market or enter the care pathway for people with long-term conditions. They do this through collaboratively working with industry, academics, patients and the public. D4D have recently received \u00a33m from the NIHR to become one of 14 nationwide HealthTech Research Centres, which will come into effect on 1 April 2024. With a focus on long-term neurological conditions, diabetes, renal disease, women&#8217;s health, mental health and rehabilitation, D4D have extensive expert networks and a nationwide remit.<\/p>\n\t<h2>Type of grant available<\/h2>\n<p>Information about the translational research grant<\/p>\n\t<p>The translational research grant aims to accelerate the development and availability of transformational technologies. It also aims to promote approaches to improve the prevention and treatment of kidney disease.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are seeking novel research that clearly outlines the positive impact on the lives of kidney patients, or how the project can support the prevention of kidney disease.<\/li>\n<li>Preference will be given to projects that have the potential for a commercial outcome.<\/li>\n<li>We welcome applications from researchers, clinical staff and SMEs.<\/li>\n<li>Grant available: four awards of \u00a310,000 available.<\/li>\n<li>Funding period: 6-12 months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<h2>Submitting an application<\/h2>\n\t<p>All submissions to this call will be subject to review from representatives from Kidney Research UK and NIHR D4D.<\/p>\n<p>All lead applicants must be resident in the United Kingdom and the research must be led from a UK establishment.<\/p>\n<p>Funding decisions will be made July 2024.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tClosed for application\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<p><strong>If you have a question or would like further information contact:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NIHR Devices for Dignity and Kidney Research UK &#8211; Translational MedTech Grant A joint competition between Devices for Dignity, NIHR HealthTech Research Centre for Long-Term Conditions (D4D) and Kidney Research UK.
