Frequently asked questions
To take part in a tandem skydive for Kidney Research UK:
Registration fee £35
- You pay registration fee of £35 to book your skydive (non-refundable). This will be paid directly to Skyline.
- You are required to raise a minimum of £500.
- 80% of your target needs to be raised four weeks before your jump either on your online fundraising page or offline donations sent direct to Kidney Research UK.
- We need the full £500 fundraising target, to be with us two days before your jump.
- 30/50% of your fundraising will be used to cover the cost of the skydive. This cost varies depending on your skydive location.
- Kidney Research UK will retain the remaining 50-80% of the target plus any additional fundraising you achieve to fund vital research
We advise setting up an online giving page as an easy and efficient way of collecting sponsorship and helping you reach your fundraising target. We recommend setting up a GiveTap fundraising page, which our events team will send you the link in your 'Welcome Email'. However, if you would prefer to use an alternative fundraising page, that is absolutely fine.
You can personalise your page, add photos, talk about what you're doing and why, set your fundraising target and then send your page link to your friends, family and colleagues so that they can sponsor you easily and securely.
All money donated online is received directly into our bank account which means you do not have to spend time collecting in any money raised.
Whichever option you choose to jump for Kidney Research UK (£35, £70 registration or self-funded jump), you will be required to fill in a form with Skyline to book your jump and by completing this form you understand you will be committing to paying the relevant registration fee, and raising the relevant amount of sponsorship money by the dates outlined.
If you fall short of the sponsorship amount, we will work with you to try to establish a means of you paying the money to us - perhaps setting up instalments over a period of time.
Our team is here to support you from the moment you sign up to ensure that you are able to raise the required amount. We encourage all participants to contact us as soon as possible if they have any concerns about reaching their target.
It is important that you consider the commitment to the charity before you apply.
If you would like to have your jump filmed there is no need to book in advance, you can book and pay for your filming upon your arrival at the airfield on the day.
The cost of filming can be found here https://skylineskydiving.co.uk/prices-and-locations/.
Airfields do not allow you to use your own recording equipment for the jump.
*If you are jumping at the Nottingham airfield you need to book filming in advance so please let Skyline know if you would like your jump filmed so they can book it for you. Call 0107 4245522 to book.
Yes they can – please be aware though that it can be a very long day or them if the jump is delayed due to weather. They can usually arrive around 1 hour after the jumper if it’s easier for them as training and registration will be completed by then.
If you have to cancel your jump please contact Skyline as soon as possible 0207 4245522.
Remember your deposit is non-refundable and you have until two weeks before your jump within which it can be rescheduled for free.
If you cancel or reschedule within two weeks of your jump, you are required to pay a £50 cancellation fee an if this is within 48 hours of your jump date this fee rises to £100.

Our policy like that of many other charities, is that Gift Aid is not included in sponsorship targets.
Raffles can be a great way of raising some additional money for your challenge. However, there are some strict rules governing how they can be run.
The simplest way to hold a raffle within the rules is to hold it alongside another event; a pub quiz for example. You will need to sell the tickets during your event, and the raffle has to be drawn and prizes given out on the same night. If you do a raffle this way, you won't need a licence.
If you want to hold a raffle on its own, you will need a specific licence so please get in touch with: events@kidneyresearchuk.org
Yes absolutely, if there are two or more of you doing an event, then you can get together to raise your money. Just remember that sponsorship targets are per person.
If you are going to fundraise with a friend or as a team all we ask is that you let us know as soon as you can. Please contact: events@kidneyresearchuk.org
